黄爱莲,是第一位录制《黄河钢琴协奏曲》的女钢琴家,她出生于四川重庆,父母都是中国早期留美的知识份子,从小就在严格的管教下学习钢琴,后来在文化大革命曾下放到葛沽农场劳改,其后独自带着两女,由北京飞到旧金山,曾进入MILLSCOLLEAGE当研究生,获得音乐文学和演奏硕士。[1][2]其后曾移居瑞士教授钢琴,目前则定居意大利。黄爱莲出身于高级知识分子世家。祖父和外祖父是中国本世纪初的留日法学家和早期在中国开办西方学院的教育家。父亲是二十年代清华学堂(后清华大学)留美博士生,母亲也是二十年代在哥伦比亚大学学习世界文学。父母在纽约结婚,三十年代回国,成为建设祖国的栋梁人才。 钢琴家--黄爱莲

Eileen Huang, the founder and director of ICMC in Positano, Italyand Shanghai since 1998, was born in Chongqing, China.She began her piano studies at age 6. At the age of eleven, she won the National Young Musicians Performance Competition and that year was admitted to the Central Conservatory in Beijingfrom where she graduated in 1966. Like many other Chinese musicians, her career was put on hold for 7 years during the Cultural Revolution.She immigrated to San Franciscoin 1979 and received the Master of Fine Arts Degree from MillsCollege in Oakland, Californiain 1982 and was honored with the Flora Boyd Memorial Award for Best Piano Performance.
